It is not surprising that Into His Harvest Training School is "local church friendly," springing as it does historically from a grass roots local assembly – Harvest City Church in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Historical Roots
Harvest City was born in 1972 during what became known as the Charismatic Movement. At that time Christians from all types of churches were experiencing spiritual renewal, while the Holy Spirit was also drawing many non-Christians into relationship with Jesus. Thus the spiritual environment was highly charged in January '72 when a number of Regina young people began to come together to pray and learn about the Lord. The church that resulted was originally known as Maranatha Christian Centre; the name was changed to Harvest City Church in May, 1992.
From the beginning, loving relationships have been the emphasis at Harvest City. Love for the Lord has been evidenced by strong worship and a hunger to know Him and His Word. And that love has been shed abroad, giving rise to strong fellowship among members and a zeal for reaching out to others.
History as a Training Provider

A training school known as Maranatha Training Institute (MTI) was inaugurated in 1977. It offered a two-year Certificate of Theology and a four-year Graduate of Theology diploma program. MTI operated for ten years, producing a number of fruitful Christian workers.
Between 1987 and the mid-'90s Harvest City Church underwent a spiritual, philosophical and practical metamorphosis. God sovereignly renewed the "wineskin," producing new vision, responsiveness and balance. Training at Harvest City went through a corresponding revamping process.
The latter 1990s saw God moving globally with another wave of renewal, sweeping Harvest City along with many other churches into the beginnings of a great season of outreach and spiritual harvest. One outgrowth of that is Into His Harvest, a streamlined training vehicle with strong harvest focus and a decidedly hands-on approach.
From Into His Harvest's launch in 1998, student enrolment climbed rapidly. Many of the graduates have plugged in to their local churches with multiplied fruitfulness, while a number have gone on into vocational ministry.
