Life in the balance… At this very moment around the world billions of lives are in the balance, precious people of every age, race and culture, teetering on the brink — on one side a heavenly eternity with Christ, on the other the hell of eternity without Him. What will tip the balance in their favour?
It will take a throng of witnesses weighted with God’s glory, reaching out from stable footing in His Spirit. It will take well-equipped workers proclaiming “the Way, Truth and LIFE”, the One who has worked in them personally a balanced godliness. It will take those who have learned to find life in the balance to rescue those whose lives are in the balance. Productive Christians say their biggest challenge is often finding balance in their own personal lives, in their churches and their ministries. Balancing the spiritual and the practical, ambitions and contentment, work and relationships, local needs and worldwide mission…it’s a real balancing act! Into His Harvest Training School recognizes the challenge of balance and designs its training to address it. For example… - Classroom academics are close to 50-50 with practical ministry activities.
- Emphasis on the Word of God is balanced with attention to the fruit, gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit.
- Generalization (teaching and training in a wide range of subjects) is balanced with specialization (opportunities to focus on areas of personal interest and calling).
- Training “in a local church, by a local church, for the local church” is balanced with outreach and global exposure.
- Study and work pursuits are balanced with mentoring and socializing.
- …and so on.
